34 down, 6 to go!!!

Today, we had our 34 week appointment with the ever-not-so-friendly Dr. Kanter.  The great news is that everything is right on track.  Baby's heartbeat sounds great and mama is doing well too.  After the necessary checks, the doctor is ready to walk out without even asking if I had any questions.  Of course I had questions, so I stopped him.  Dr. Beaven has spent a lot of time talking with me about my birth philosophy, but I wanted to run it by Dr. Kanter to get a second opinion.  When asking him how I could successfully deliver naturally, he responded -- it will be close to impossible with your first baby.  I told him that women have been doing it for centuries and I wanted to hear his POV on what things might help me -- standing, walking, breathing, etc.  He just said 'good luck' and plan for it to be at least 16 hours of super intense pain.  Really, thanks genius!!  I'm sure he's a wonderful delivery doctor, but his impatience was truly agitating.  Crossing my fingers that he's not the doctor for Lo:-)  Next appointment is in two weeks, then we go to every week.  Craziness -- it's right around the corner;-)
