30 week Dr's appt

Hugh and I met with Dr. Beaven this morning for our 30 week follow-up.  Just a routine check-up, but everything was GREAT.  We heard the heartbeat, blood pressure was good, the baby was measuring right at 30 weeks and I had a normal weight gain.  Woo hoo!!  We were a little nervous because of the fall, but all seems to be doing well.  We talked to the doctor a lot about our birth philosophy -- yeah!!  Can't believe we will get to meet Lo soon:-)  Enjoy the 30 week profile pic.

Dewey's for the Babes & Babies

It was great catching up this evening with Carrie and Beth.  Baby Wilke and Baby Wright are only 1 week apart and can't wait to meet each other.  The babies really enjoyed Dewey's -- yum!! "Why the hell do you need gloves?"

Visit with the Mulberrys

Nothing like a little practice before the B-day:-)  Taking care of little ones is old hat for the Mulberry's.  Parker (2 years) is now the big brother on the Bonnie Lane campus.  His little sister, Paige (4 days) was just born on Sunday.  The Mulberry family is gorgeous and growing.  We had a great visit playing with Parker, holding sweet little Paige and sharing 'oh so fun' birthing stories with Christy and Dustin.  ......Or shall we call him Scuba Dustin from now on - he, he, he!!  It's so great to have friends who can tell you the really really's in advance:-)

Tummy Ping Pong

Lo's definitely got his father's genes:-)  Between 8p-11p, Baby Lo is the most active.  Throwing his/her body around playing tummy ping pong.  Last evening, Daddy was able to feel the consistent and very strong kicks and punches.  He couldn't believe how strong the thrusts were:-)  It's absolutely amazing!!

Lo's Cousins

Avery and Aidan sharing some yummy cookie cake:-)

Paige, Oliver and Owen

Great news!!  After talking to Amy and Christy today, they shared the great news that three new babies were born today.  Christy and Dustin had a beautiful girl, Paige.  Brian and Sarah Garner welcomed their twin boys, Oliver and Owen.  We can't wait to meet some of baby Lo's future play buddies:-)

Laura & Scott's Wedding (or should I say reception)

Once we felt the reassurance of the baby's movements, we decided to go on to the reception.  The bride and groom were beautiful, VERY happy and both lighting up the room.  Everything was perfect and we had a great time.  Of course, I also spend some 'practice time' with their 7 week old baby, Addison.  Isn't she beautiful:-)  Although, you gotta watch out for her hands:-)

Friday the 14th

It's Friday, all is great.  Dressed, ready and going to make Scott and Laura's wedding just on time.  As I head out the door to our garage, I either missed a step or twisted my ankle, but the next thing I knew I was laid out on the garage floor and landed on the baby bump rather hard:-(  The elbows and knees managed to get a good bruising too.  I was crying and yelling for help -- scared to death for what had just happened.  Hugh was ready to rush me to the hospital, but we called the doctor first.  The doctor asked if I had any bleeding or was feeling any contraction-like cramping.  Thanks goodness, the answer was no.  He reassured me that to hurt the baby, I would have to have bruised myself.  He told me I would be sore -- which I was.  Also, he said to be sure I felt regular movements from the baby.  Laying down and drinking cold water might help:-)  Within 15 minutes, I felt lots of motion inside.  Baby Lo was telling me he/she was okay.  Phew!!!  Both Hugh and I were very nervous and scared.  All weekend, the baby has been wiggling around inside -- great sign!!  From here till the due date, I'll never forget to hold handrails very tightly and watch where I'm stepping:-)

Aren't strangers sweet?

So......everyone has their 'ever so nice stranger' story and today I had my first one - yeah!!  The LPK softball team had a 6:30p game that I was planning to attend.  Leaving P&G, I decided that I couldn't participate in the frosty beverage action, so I would get a tasty treat instead.  I ventured into UDF to get a strawberry shake - yum!!  There was a lady sitting in the chairs -- hanging out in UDF (awesome!).  She decided to strike up a conversation with me and pursued to ask 'how far along are you?'.  Happily, I responded, '7 months'.  She replied, 'WOW, you're BIG' and then continued to tell me for 2 minutes about how big she thought I was for being 7 months prego.  The Mt. Lookout UDF almost got interesting today:-)

BabyMoon was a Blast!!

Our trip to Topsail was perfect!!!  We spent the entire week being beach bums and soaking up the sun.  We had a bit of rain at the beginning of the week, but got to catch a matinee (The Hangover - hilarious!!), eat some yummy Clam Chowder at a local beach cabana and go to a few shops.  The baby's room is beach-inspired, so we were able to pick up a few items for the room - yeah!!  The cornhole battle ended with a 36 game win over Daddy's 10 game loss!!!

The second to last day, Daddy was also catching some waves and befriended a large shark about 10 yards away.  Yikes!!  Along with some spectators, we saw the dorsel fin, as it swam south down the coast.  The rest of the vaca was spent a little closer to the coast.

It was a wonderful get away for both of us and the dogs too!!  Next vacation will be with LO -- we can't wait:-)

Lo's first golf game

Mommy and Daddy had a tee time of 7:41 this morning to play a round of 18 holes.  The front 9 were a bit rough for both of us.  The back nine proved to be a bit better -- kind of.  Daddy helped to correct Mommy's swing and it made swinging the irons much more productive.  Pics to come -- and I'm sure you'll enjoy the profile of a 27 week pregnant lady pretending to still golf:-)

Good Luck Charm Lo

3.5 days on the beach, 20 games of 1:1 cornhole and 12ish games of Red Hot Yott.  Lo is Mommy's little luck charm because Daddy (known to be a good cornhole player) is losing 5 games to Mommy's 15 games - yikkkkeess!!  Quoted from the movie 'Hangover' (which we saw on Monday), Daddy is ready to 'let the dogs out', but we'll see.  One game, Daddy was even winning 14-0, but Mommy just let him get a head start b/c she came back to take the victory.  A few days left, but Lo and Mommy are looking like quite the pair when it comes to the competition at the beach:-)
